Steve Lowry loves Country Music.....It's a natural for him.
As
an 8 year old, Steve realized that he wanted to be a singer. Steve's
earliest influence was his Uncle Merv. Merv was a popular country
singer in Australia.
At
age 12, Steve's parents gave him an acoustic guitar and Steve started
guitar lessons in High School.
By
age 15, Steve joined his first band as lead singer performing at
dances, and whilst he enjoyed that, he decided to go into hard rock
music a year later. During a three year period, Steve played with
"Magnum Force" where he did support gigs for some of Australia's
best bands such as AC/DC, Little River Band, Billy Thorpe and the
Aztecs and others.
By
age 21, Steve decided to play country music mainly because of his
Uncle's influence and because his parents always has country music
playing at home. Steve obviously had great passion for country music.
One
of the songs on Steve's new album "Livin On Your Memory"
is called "What I Like About Country" and refers to the
childhood influence that country music delivered. The track clearly
desciribes how Steve feels.
Over
the next 12 or so years, Steve played in different country and rock
bands. In 1996 Steve decided to go solo and released his first album
"Dammed If You Do, Dammed If You Don't". The album still
receives airplay on country music radio shows all over Australia.
Such is the popularity of Steve and his music.
Steve's
vitals are: 6 ft tall, light brown hair, green eyes.
Steve's current band, named "The Steve Lowry Band" was
formed in 1998.
The current line up is:
Steve
Lowry - Guitar and Vocals
Steve Doyle - Bass Guitar
Paul O'Donohue - Lead Guitar
Warwick Jenner - Drums
